I can’t believe how fast 2011 went by! I also can’t believe how hard this post was to put together, I have so many favorites! I will be posting more on my Facebook page soon, I still have to blog some of these sessions.

Thank you SO much to those that have supported me along the way,  my clients, fans, family, and friends. This dream would be nothing without all of you. I grew so much as a photographer and a business owner in 2011, I can’t wait to see what 2012 holds!

  Meet my dear friend Katie. We have been friends for a little over 5 years now, and for as long as I have known her she has always wanted a baby.  I was SO excited when she told me she was pregnant, she is going to make such an amazing mother. I know this because she has helped watch my boys on numerous occasions!

Besides being a sweet, compassionate, hilarious woman, Katie is also an artist.  She specializes in painting beach/ocean themed paintings. And she loves mermaids. Since she is drawn to the water and we have had a few ladies nights out in Cedar Key, we decided it would be fitting to do her maternity session there.

Because Katie is a friend and an artist I knew I could try out a lot of different creative ideas, and she was such a trooper. We had SO much fun, and a special thanks to our friend Erin who came along and helped out.

I can’t wait to meet your little man Katie!!

 

You may recognize this woman, she was the maid of honor and sister to the bride of this wedding. When I met her I told her she should really have maternity portraits taken. She is one of those amazingly stunning pregnant women, who only carries the baby in their belly. She epitomizes what I wanted to look like pregnant!

Ms. L lives in Jacksonville, so I never thought she would ask me to take her pictures. I was so honored that she wanted me to travel from Gainesville to take her pictures. And when she asked if I would be okay with some Demi Moore style maternity pictures, I was so excited! I love clients that have their own ideas and are willing to try artistic photo shoots.

We did so many styles and poses, it was so fun. All the first pictures were taken in their bedroom, just goes to show you don’t need a studio, you can take pictures anywhere there is good light!

After we finished the indoor photos, we headed to Alpine Grove Park, which is also where her sister’s wedding was held.

Her husband and little man joined us at the park. They are such a gorgeous family, its a little ridiculous

I LOVE everything about the below shot. Little man’s hair glowing from the setting sun, the car in his hand, the smile on his face, how he is making eye contact with the camera. And of course the adorable baby bump.

We eventually ran out of sunlight, but it was such a great time. Ms. L you are so amazing, thank you so much for trying all my ideas, you were the perfect subject! I can’t wait to see what your baby looks like. Wishing you a happy labor and delivery. I will be thinking about you and your family!
