I think I first met Amber online, we realized shortly after that we lived in the same town. We both have a passion for photography, and at the time we both had little guys fighting horrible diseases. Her little guy Nate has mitochondrial disease and has already undergone multiple surgeries. Although Amber and I never got to spend a whole lot of time together, there has always been an unspoken bond between us. Having a child with a life threatening disease is a tragically beautiful experience. While no mother wishes her child ill, going through it pulls your family closer together, makes yourself stronger, and makes your short time here so much more meaningful. And Amber gets that. You can see it in how much her family loves each other.
This was one of my favorite family sessions to date, not only are the pictures beautiful, but being able to give this gift to their family meant the world to me. I donated this session to them through Inspiration Through Art, a non-profit organization that matches photographers with families.
